RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and conduct all aspects of foot care clinics operation according to the established highest quality care standards of practice.
• Manage and conduct all aspects of in–home foot care visits according to the established highest quality care standards of practice, including the most up to date infection prevention and control practices as determined by provincial guidelines and legislation.
• Co-ordinate and ensure all supplies/related equipment are secured, properly set up and fully operational.
• Create and maintain the related client documentation in accordance with set guidelines.  This includes collection and submission of evaluation data.
• Teach and educate on foot care related topics.
• Determine and carry out appropriate advanced foot care nursing interventions.
• Be conscience of the hazards in the environment and to act accordingly in meeting the safety and protection needs of the Client. In keeping with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Foot Care Nurse will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the workplace is safe.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required from time to time.

• Completion of a university, college or other approved registered nursing program.
• Completion of an approved Advanced Foot Care Training Program.
• Licensure by a provincial or territorial governing body.
• Some knowledge of Public Health / Community Nursing

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively meets the needs of each Client by scheduling a primary caregiver and a core group of employees whose qualifications best "match" the Client's requirements based on criteria contained in the referral i.e. time/day, duties, language, training levels, skill sets and cultural preferences. 
• Obtains and updates employee availability and provides equitable distribution of work while ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
• Responds to Client/caregiver/employee inquiries and/or problems immediately, and as appropriate refers to the Client Care Manager for necessary follow-up and action.
• Integrates quality criteria and standards into daily work practice and participates through suggestions, actions, etc. in continuous quality improvements in all aspects of operations.
• Maintains accurate employee records by ensuring changes in schedules are effected immediately.
• Processes required documentation (Records of Employment, vacation pay) within policy/legislated guidelines. Please omit - HR Coordinator role
• Processes rejected submissions in a timely manner to ensure successful resubmission and payment of invoices.
• Reviews late time sheet reports and acts within designated time frames to ensure timely submission of time sheets.
• Reviews discrepancies with time sheets, and brings to the attention of the Client Care Manager for further action.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist clients with the personal care tasks of daily living, including skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, basic wound care, feeding (including special diets) and assistance with medication administration and oxygen

• Assists with ambulating and mobilization of patient

• Performs other related housekeeping tasks as indicated in the individualized written client service plan.

• Practices universal precautions and adheres to WHMIS protocols.

• Recognizes and reports safety concerns or equipment malfunction in the home environment and acts accordingly to meet the safety and the protection needs of the Client.

• Able to establish communication with appropriate sources in response to emergency

• Observes, documents and reports any emotional or physical changes in the Client's condition to the Client Care Manager/Supervisor

• PSW will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the workplace is safe

• A PSW certificate
• First Aid and CPR Level C
• Negative Police Check (within the last 6 months upon hire)with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• TB Test (within the last year upon hire)

Terms of Employment:
Elect to Work, Part-time and Full-time available, Flexible Hours- Days, Evenings and Every other Weekend

1. Keyboarding accuracy and knowledgeable in Windows environment.
2. Minimum of two (2) years’ scheduling experience preferably in the health care or customer service field.
