We Care Home Health Services opens first Manitoba Remicade clinic

On October 11, 2007 We Care Home Health Services opened our first Manitoba Remicade clinic. The comfortable, spa-like surroundings offer patients a warm and relaxing atmosphere in which to get their treatments. For those who prefer to use the time to catch up on work or just surf the net, wi-fi access is available. This is the second Remicade clinic in the We Care network. The first has been operating in Edmonton for approximately one year, and has recently doubled its capacity.

Remicade is an anti tumour necrosis factor (TNF) drug that works by altering the bodies own immune messaging system to treat disease. It is widely used for such conditions as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriasis. Strict clinical guidelines and practices are adhered to, with a maximum ratio of 3 patients to 1 nurse and physician backup available during all treatments. All our nurses have extensive training on the drug, its function and potential adverse events.

We Care is very excited to be partnering with Schering Plough Canada to provide this amazing drug to patients to help them live more productive and healthier lives.
